Maren C. Locke, MD is a board-certified Dermatologist and fellowship-trained Mohs Surgeon. She is the founder and director of Carlyle Dermatology—an institute she created in 2018 to offer a distinctive patient experience to those seeking medical, surgical, and cosmetic dermatology services.

Dr. Locke’s clinical practice is focused on comprehensive skin health including full-body skin examination, early detection of skin cancer, skin cancer surgery utilizing the Mohs micrographic surgery technique, reconstructive surgery, medical dermatology of common and rare conditions, and cosmetic dermatology.

Dr. Locke is a native Floridian and was raised in Ocala, FL. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill. She focused on her pre-medical studies, graduated with Honors, and returned to Florida to attend the University of Florida College of Medicine for her medical degree. After graduating in 2012, Dr. Locke completed her Internship in Internal Medicine at UF Health before advancing on to her Dermatology training at MetroHealth-Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. She served as Chief Resident during her final year of residency and developed a special interest for surgical procedures of the skin. This led her to seek additional training through a fellowship in Micrographic Surgery and Dermatologic Oncology where she trained under experts in the field.

Dr. Locke is one of the few Dermatologists that are fellowship-trained in Mohs Surgery for skin cancer treatment. During this additional training year, fellows develop the surgical expertise to perform the highly technical and effective Mohs surgery and reconstruction procedures that yield the highest cure rate for skin cancer while optimizing function and cosmetic appearance. Additionally, fellows gain a comprehensive understanding of complex skin cancers and treatment options. This additional qualification allows Dr. Locke to offer patients the highest level of surgical care with unparalleled cure rates.

This expertise not only sets Dr. Locke apart within the field of surgical dermatology, but also gives her a unique vantage point to excel in cosmetic dermatology. Her intensive training in skin surgery yields a deep understanding of facial anatomy and structure. Mastery of anatomy coupled with precise technical skill are two critical components of restoring a natural and youthful appearance. Dr. Locke is passionate about understanding patients’ cosmetic concerns and will utilize the latest technology and products to help you achieve your best and most vibrant skin yet.

Dr. Locke is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology (AAD), a diplomat of the American Board of Dermatology, an Associate member of the American College of Mohs Surgery, and a member of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery.

She resides in central Florida with her husband and daughter. In her spare time, Dr. Locke enjoys golfing, running, and spending time with her family.
